Volleyball Recap: Lily Bertarelli's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lindbergh over Festus

Lindbergh lost against Festus back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Flyers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. While the Flyers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-15 in the first set.

Lindbergh wouldn't go down easily and took Festus into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-14, 25-18, 20-25, 15-13.

Lindbergh lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lily Bertarelli, who had 12 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Vera Stremlau, who had 21 assists and four digs.

Lindbergh's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Festus, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Lindbergh has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Marquette on the 17th. As for Festus, they will welcome Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
