Basketball Recap: Walton Takes a Loss

Walton fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against South Kortright Central on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the South Kortright Central Rams.

Walton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Walley, who posted eight points along with eight boards and four steals. Walley is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Williams, who earned 11 points.

Walton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for South Kortright Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Walton will challenge Sidney at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Kortright Central, they will take on Stamford Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
