Recap: KIPP Bold City Greyhounds vs. Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks
The KIPP Bold City Greyhounds pushed their score all the way to 68 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 75-68 to Global Outreach Charter Academy. KIPP Bold City has not had much luck with Global Outreach Charter Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, KIPP Bold City had strong showings from Joel Hunt, who scored 15 points along with two steals, and Jabari Green, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Green has scored all season. Mikell Reddick was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Josue Rivera was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points for Global Outreach Charter Academy. Another player making a difference was Jason Martinez, who scored 13 points.
KIPP Bold City dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP Bold City on the road again on Friday and play against Baldwin at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. Baldwin is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Global Outreach Charter Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Parsons Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Parsons Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 734th, while Global Outreach Charter Academy is ranked 332nd).
