Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach Takes a Loss

Pompano Beach was the 56-53 winner over West Broward when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes were dealt a 68-40 loss at the hands of the West Broward Bobcats on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.

Matthew Martinez was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 15 en route to 27 points and seven boards for West Broward. Bedirhan Menguc was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Pompano Beach and nudges their season record down to 3-14. As for West Broward, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-10.

Pompano Beach has already played their next game, a 66-22 win against Hollywood Hills on the 23rd. As for West Broward, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-51 defeat against Cypress Bay on the 27th.
