Waccamaw proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Aynor Blue Jackets 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won five games in a row.

Waccamaw was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-16, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, Aynor saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mia Cole had 12 digs and one assist.

Waccamaw's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Aynor, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Waccamaw wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against St. James on the 17th. As for Aynor, they will square off against Loris at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
