Recap: Osborne Cardinals vs. Wheeler Wildcats
It was a good run, but The Osborne Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 17-10 to Wheeler. Osborne has struggled against Wheeler recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The team won by holding Osborne to a paltry two yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Wheeler's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Elijah Muhammad and Shamar Yarber who racked up four sacks between them.
Osborne's loss dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Wheeler, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osborne will face off against Walton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Walton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. As for Wheeler, they will head out on the road to face off against Kennesaw Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kennesaw Mountain comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
