Basketball Game Preview: Antioch Sequoits vs. Round Lake Panthers

The Antioch Sequoits will face off against the Round Lake Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, it was close, but Antioch sidestepped Grayslake North for a 52-49 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sequoits.

Heidi Rathmann was her usual excellent self, putting up 26 points. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Carroll, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Round Lake). They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 61-15 win over North Chicago. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their 20-point performance the contest before.

Round Lake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Antioch, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Antioch took their win against Round Lake in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 43-23. Does Antioch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Round Lake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
