Softball Recap: Point Pleasant Beats George Washington for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Point Pleasant waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the George Washington Patriots by a score of 11-8.

Rylann Macknight looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chloe Patrick and Bralee Roush did most of the damage at the plate: Patrick scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Roush went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four runs gave Patrick a new career-high. Callie Hall was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Point Pleasant's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for George Washington, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant will square off against Parkersburg South at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for George Washington, they will challenge Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
