Recap: Carvers Bay Bears vs. Philip Simmons Iron Horses
It was a good run, but the Carvers Bay Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Philip Simmons.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmyn Jenkins, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jerchel Geathers-Washington, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Carvers Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Philip Simmons, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carvers Bay will take on Loris at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Loris is ranked 130th, while Carvers Bay is ranked 109th). As for Philip Simmons, they will be playing at home against Hanahan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
