St. Dominic dropped their record down to 3-2 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Mountain Valley Falcons by a score of 10-9. The contest marked the Saints' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Sophia Franciose was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Andrews, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

As for Mountain Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games.

On Mountain Valley's side, Madisyn McLean was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hayden Chase was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Dominic will venture away from home to square off against Mount Abram at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain Valley, they will head out to take on Poland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
