Soccer Game Preview: Montbello vs. Denver East

The Montbello Warriors will square off against the Denver East Angels at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Montbello's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Montbello's offense. They lost 10-0 to Denver South on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Montbello can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Denver South are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Denver East finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Denver North by a score of 2-1. The loss was Denver East's first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Liza Cathey, who's now up to nine this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Denver East fell to 5-1-1. As for Montbello, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
