Basketball Game Recap: Citrus Hurricanes vs. Central Bears

Central came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Citrus, but Landon Hensley wouldn't allow it. The Citrus Hurricanes walked away with a 53-46 win over the Central Bears on Tuesday thanks in part to Hensley, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 22 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Kevon Jefferson was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted four or more blocks the last three times he's played.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Braydon Prospero, who scored 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavior Haegele, who had 12 points.

Citrus' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-19. As for Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.

Citrus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 101-69 defeat against Lecanto on the 31st. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 39-24 loss against Nature Coast Tech on the 31st.
