Basketball Game Preview: New Hampton Chickasaws vs. Charles City Comets

New Hampton is 2-8 against Charles City since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 8:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, New Hampton took a blow against Decorah-North Winneshiek, falling 81-52. That's two games in a row now that the Chickasaws have lost by exactly 29 points.

Meanwhile, Charles City played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Grundy Center and fell 83-38. The game marked the Comets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Charles City now has a losing record at 2-3. As for New Hampton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

New Hampton suffered a grim 73-47 defeat to Charles City in their previous meeting back in February. Can New Hampton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
