Softball Preview: Central Cambria Red Devils vs. Forest Hills Rangers
The Central Cambria Red Devils will be playing at home against the Forest Hills Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central Cambria comes in on five and Forest Hills on six.
Central Cambria is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Wednesday, just like they did against Westmont Hilltop (and have done all season long). Everything went Central Cambria's way against Westmont Hilltop on Tuesday as Central Cambria made off with a 14-4 win. That's two games straight that Central Cambria has won by exactly ten runs.
Keira Link made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Link was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Central Cambria let Kathryn George and Olivia Janosik loose on the outfield. George got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run, two RBI, and a double, while Janosik went 1-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Ruddek, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs.
Meanwhile, Forest Hills won against Westmont Hilltop on Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Forest Hills never let Chestnut Ridge onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory.
Central Cambria pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Forest Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
