Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

Covenant Christian lost against Wayland back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Covenant Christian Chargers fell 54-47 to the Wayland Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Wildcats are ranked 86th).

Covenant Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Wayland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Covenant Christian will host Zeeland West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Zeeland West will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Covenant Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wayland, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
