The biggest upset of the week belonged to Toms River East, who took down 240th ranked Toms River East, 28-27.
Gudzak Matt of the Raiders ran for the longest rushing play in Shore - South A this season against Brick Township last week. Matt's team lost to the Green Dragons as he sprinted for 97 yards on the play and finished with 131 in all.
Tom Kelly put up the best numbers through the air as Lacey Township topped Southern Regional. He finished with a total of 22 completions for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Kelly's favorite target this week was Rj Kurtz, who caught six passes for 72 yards.
Mike Gesicki was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rams fell to the Lions. Gesicki tallied seven receptions for 79 yards. Nick Hem helped Southern Regional's passing attack out by catching four balls for 63 yards.
Carmen Sclafani was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 140 yards as Toms River North fell to Lacey Township. Trevon Bass also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Kelly and Kyle Spatz Lou Vircillo's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Kelly leads the league in passing with 1013 yards, while Spatz has rushed for 749 yards this season. Chuck Donohue Sr.'s team's Gesicki leads the league in receiving yards with 336 on 19 catches.
A big matchup in Shore - South A this week will be when Brick Memorial takes on the Rams. The Mustangs are currently in second, while Southern Regional is in fourth.
The Lions extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Rams, 21-19. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
