Football Recap: Midlothian's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Midlothian can now relate to. They fell 26-14 to the Hermitage Panthers on Friday. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in November of 2021.

Avery Curtis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hermitage, rushing for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 50 receiving yards. Curtis' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 104 rushing yards. Ben Yeanay was another key player, rushing for 40 yards and one score.

The loss snapped Midlothian's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-3 record. As for Hermitage, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Midlothian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hermitage, they are taking a road trip to take on Patrick Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 14.6, the Patriots 6.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
