Softball Preview: Athens Golden Eagles vs. Muscle Shoals Trojans
The Athens Golden Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Muscle Shoals Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Athens easily dispatched Bob Jones on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Athens fell just short of Sparkman by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Senators recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.
Athens got a good showing from Camry Townsend, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
