The Maple Heights Mustangs will square off against the Garfield Heights Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Maple Heights took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past East Tech with points to spare, taking the game 86-72. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Scarabs are ranked 620th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Garfield Heights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They took down the Ironmen 63-49.

Garfield Heights' win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Maple Heights, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
