Preview: Lake Creek Lions vs. College Station Cougars
Lake Creek is on a three-game streak of home wins, while College Station is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lake Creek Lions will take on the College Station Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 343 points over their last five matches.
Even though Rudder scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Lake Creek still came out on top. Lake Creek took their match against Rudder 72-61. Given Lake Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Rudder is ranked 656th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Aedan Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jett Sutton, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, College Station earned a 56-49 victory over Brenham on Friday.
Lake Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for College Station, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
Everything came up roses for Lake Creek against College Station when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 60-33 victory. Will Lake Creek repeat their success, or does College Station have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
