Softball Recap: Homer-Center Takes a Loss

If Homer-Center was riding high fresh off their 20-0 takedown of United two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 16-6 to the Purchase Line Red Dragons on Wednesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Gigi Palmer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Jo Howard was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Homer-Center's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Purchase Line, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

While Homer-Center had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
