After having lost a blowout in their previous game against White River, Lower Brule was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took down the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves 71-52. This was a revenge game for the Sioux: when they faced off against the Braves back in December of 2024, they had to take a 58-55 loss.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Suni Bowman, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last seven times she's played. Cloey Big Eagle was another key player, putting up six points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Lower Brule's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Lower Brule didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-28 win against Aberdeen Christian on the 15th. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 88-64 victory against Wakpala on the 15th.
