Baseball Game Preview: Thomaston Bears vs. Kaynor Tech Panthers

The Thomaston Bears will face off against the Kaynor Tech Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Thomaston blew Terryville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Terryville got their revenge. The Bears fell just short of the Kangaroos by a score of 7-5. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lucas Koval put in work no matter where he played. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Josh Pelletier was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Kaynor Tech won against Northwestern Regional on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Panthers blew past O'Brien RVT 10-3. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

The win (which was Kaynor Tech's third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Thomaston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
