Basehor-Linwood and Shawnee Heights are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but not for long. The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats will venture away from home to face off against the Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Basehor-Linwood took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Turner 71-28. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Shawnee Heights got the win against De Soto on Friday by a conclusive 79-55. The Thunderbirds have beaten the Wildcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Shawnee Heights' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points over those games. As for Basehor-Linwood, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Basehor-Linwood came up short against Shawnee Heights when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 70-65. Can Basehor-Linwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
