Volleyball Recap: Lyons Gets the Win

On Tuesday Lyons's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Highland Huskies. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Lyons wouldn't go down easily and took Highland into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-10, 15-25, 15-9.

Michaela Coleman paced Lyons' offense, picking up 13 kills. Coleman got some help from Carmen Dumbauld and her 33 assists. Annabelle Hay controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Lyons' win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Lyons didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Flatirons Academy on the 25th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Clear Creek on the 26th.
