Softball Recap: Lee Park Prep Comes Up Short

If Lee Park Prep was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Gaston Christian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights came up short against the Porter Ridge Pirates on Thursday, falling 17-3. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Lee Park Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ansley Green, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Addison Swann, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Lee Park Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Porter Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Lee Park Prep will be playing at home against Forest Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Porter Ridge, they will head out to square off against Marvin Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
