Baseball Recap: Vandalia Comes Up Short

Vandalia lost against Altamont back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vandals lost 11-3 to the Indians. The Vandals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vandalia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Casey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Casey hit this season.

Vandalia now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Altamont, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vandalia will face off against Gillespie at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vandals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Altamont, they will square off against Neoga at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
