Baseball Game Preview: Garden Grove Argonauts vs. Estancia Eagles

The Garden Grove Argonauts will venture away from home to face off against the Estancia Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Garden Grove has four straight victories, Estancia has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Garden Grove barely beat Westminster the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Argonauts blew past the Lions 13-1 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Estancia fell victim to Century and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 1-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Lincoln Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, Sawyer Atkinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

Garden Grove's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Estancia, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Garden Grove beat Estancia 4-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Argonauts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
