Basketball Recap: Fideles Christian Takes a Loss

If Fideles Christian was feeling good fresh off their 89-60 takedown of New Creation Christian Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The match between the Fideles Christian Rangers and the Cherokee Christian Warriors didn't end well, with the Fideles Christian Rangers falling 74-56. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rangers of the 60-59 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fideles Christian lost on Friday, don't look at Xander Lipinski. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 14 on his way to 33 points and four steals. That's the most steals Lipinski has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaac Fleck, who posted six points.

Fideles Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Cherokee Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fideles Christian will challenge Horizon Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cherokee Christian, they will face off against The King's Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The King's Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Cherokee Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
