Football Recap: Captain Shreve Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Captain Shreve extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-4. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Parkway Panthers. Despite 400 more yards than the Panthers, the Gators couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Captain Shreve lost, don't look at Jamarcea Plater. Despite the final result, he rushed for 296 yards and three scores while picking up 14.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one TD.

As for Parkway, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 51.1 points this season.

Kb Williams produced another solid performance throwing for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Captain Shreve and Parkway should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Gators (ranked 44th) will meet Haughton (ranked 135th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Parkway will square off against Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (23 vs. 107).
