Baseball Recap: Bryan Comes Up Short

Bryan extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-13. They lost 16-5 to the Lincoln High Links. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Links this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on April 3rd.

Jacob Lang was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Westin Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Lincoln High, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

On Lincoln High's side, the team relied heavily on Bode Workman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Workman a new career-high. Owen Farr was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Coincidentally, Bryan and Lincoln High will both be playing Benson the next time they take the field. The Bears will head out to face the Mighty Bunnies at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Links will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
