Volleyball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Liberty-Benton Eagles, falling 3-0. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-12, 25-20.

Leah Miller paced Riverdale's offense, picking up four kills. Miller got some help from Paige Courtad and her six assists. Claire Inbody controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Liberty-Benton to victory were Maddy Amstutz and Evelyn Ricker. Amstutz had 13 digs and three assists, while Ricker had three digs and three aces. That's the most assists Amstutz has posted over her last seven matchups.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Liberty-Benton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

Coming up, Riverdale will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against McComb at 5:30 p.m. As for Liberty-Benton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Calvert on the 7th.
