Recap: Plattsburg Tigers vs. Lawson Cardinals
A well-balanced attack led the Plattsburg Tigers over the Lawson Cardinals in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Plattsburg blew Lawson out of the water with a 71-33 final score. That 38 points margin sets a new team best for Plattsburg this season.
It was another big night for Michael "isaia" Howard, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Howard is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tryston Miller, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
Chase Jones and Brogan Crawford certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Jones scored 12 points, while Crawford scored seven points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Crawford is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last nine games he's played.
Plattsburg's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Lawson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
Plattsburg will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Southeast at 6:00 p.m. Southeast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Plattsburg is ranked 79th). As for Lawson, they will square off against Wellington-Napoleon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wellington-Napoleon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
