Basketball Recap: Ogden Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ogden can now relate to. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richfield Wildcats on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 81-71 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Ogden lost, don't look at Jackson Maw. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Maw has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is 11-3 when he posts at least eight boards, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Peter Archibald, who posted eight points.

Ogden's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Richfield, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-7.

Ogden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-45 defeat against Delta on the 20th. As for Richfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-40 loss against American Heritage on the 20th.
