Softball Recap: Millington Central Comes Up Short

Millington Central lost against Brighton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Cardinals, falling 13-4. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Millington Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Washburn, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Millington Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for Brighton, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6-2.

Looking ahead, Millington Central will face off against Bartlett at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.79 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brighton, they will square off against Munford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
