Wheelersburg won the last time they faced Waverly and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pirates came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 4-1. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won six games in a row.

Jack Picklesimer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Brody Wilburn was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Clevenger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Wheelersburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Waverly, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheelersburg will venture away from home to face off against Ironton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 1.8, the Fighting Tigers 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Waverly, they will head out to challenge Fairfield Union at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
