Baseball Recap: Sevier County's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Sevier County dropped their record down to 14-16 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They lost 13-3 to the Maryville Red Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Red Rebels this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-1 loss back in March.

As for Maryville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-15-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

For Maryville's part, Max Coleman looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Coleman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trey Carico was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Brenton Campbell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Sevier County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maryville, they will be playing at home against Halls at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
