Baseball Game Preview: Como-Pickton Eagles vs. Big Sandy Wildcats

For the second straight game, Como-Pickton will face off against Big Sandy. The Eagles will face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

If Como-Pickton beats Big Sandy with 11 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Eagles walked away with an 11-8 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

DANE OUD made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Como-Pickton is 2-1 when OUD allows one or fewer hits, but 5-11 otherwise. OUD was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, OTTO SELF was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Como-Pickton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of BENJAMIN BREWER, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Como-Pickton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Big Sandy, they moved to 5-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
