Baseball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Marshall's offense. They came up short against the Boonville Pirates on Thursday, falling 8-0. The Owls' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Boonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boonville, they will face off against Mexico at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.5, the Bulldogs 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
