Baseball Recap: Triton Hawks vs. Cape Fear Colts

After flying high against Pine Forest last Friday, Triton came back down to earth. The Triton Hawks suffered a tough 13-3 loss at the hands of the Cape Fear Colts on Monday. Triton has not had much luck with Cape Fear recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Triton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Roberson, who went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

On Cape Fear's side, Mason Hughes was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Hughes was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5.

As for Cape Fear, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. Douglas Byrd hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
