Baseball Recap: Excel's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Excel can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past the Flomaton Hurricanes 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 19, 2024.

Holden Stacey and Cayden Chandler did most of the damage at the plate: Stacey scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Chandler scored a run while going 3-for-5. Stacey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hampton Pharr, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Excel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .592. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Excel's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Flomaton, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
