Sandhills Classical Christian hadn't done well against Liberty Christian Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Knights. That looming 13-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Sandhills Classical Christian got a great performance from Tyler Allen as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Casey McBride was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Landon Smith, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Sandhills Classical Christian moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Sandhills Classical Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Antioch Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on May 5. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they will square off against Mintz Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
