Baseball Recap: El Toro Find Success

While El Toro put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Beckman. The Chargers came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.

Not much got past Max Smith, who gave up just seven hits to keep Beckman off the board. Smith also tossed a walk, which is notable because El Toro is 6-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-6-1 otherwise.

At the plate, El Toro's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jason Lim, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Lim has posted since back in February. Isaac Lopez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory got El Toro back to even at 7-7-1. As for Beckman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5-1.

El Toro will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
