Basketball Recap: Community Christian Academy Warriors vs. Challenger Firebirds
After flying high against Nebo Crossing Academy last Friday, Community Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Community Christian Academy Warriors took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Challenger Firebirds on Monday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Firebirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Braelon Roe was his usual excellent self, going 14 for 22 en route to 31 points plus five rebounds for Challenger. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Annis, who scored 15 points.
Community Christian Academy's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Challenger, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Community Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on The Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Challenger, they will face off against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
