Volleyball Recap: St. John's Christian Academy Comes Up Short

St. John's Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since September 8th on Thursday. They came up short against the Cathedral Academy Generals, falling 3-0. The Cavaliers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Generals earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

St. John's Christian Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Cathedral Academy work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 27-25, 25-21.

Loss or not, St. John's Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Chandler Cumbie and Kylie Finley. Cumbie had 18 kills, five blocks, four digs, and four aces, while Finley had seven kills, four digs, and three blocks. Cumbie has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more kills the last 13 times she's played. Olivia Kunkle was another key player, getting 11 digs and one assist.

This is the second loss in a row for St. John's Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 11-6. As for Cathedral Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season.
