Soccer Game Preview: Hillcrest vs. West Jordan

The Hillcrest Huskies are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the West Jordan Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hillcrest's tournament run continued when they took on Spanish Fork on Friday. Hillcrest had just enough and edged out Spanish Fork 2-1. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by just one goal.

Bridger Healy and Joseth Meza scored both of Hillcrest's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, West Jordan made sure to put some goals up on the board against Juab on Monday. They put the hurt on the Wasps with a sharp 5-2 victory. Considering the Jaguars' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The win made it two in a row for Hillcrest and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. As for West Jordan, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-3.

Hillcrest beat West Jordan 3-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2015. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillcrest since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
