Volleyball Recap: Deer Valley Takes a Loss

If Deer Valley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Antioch two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Emerald Aerouants by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Aerouants: they've now lost three in a row.

Deer Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Emerald into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-27, 15-13.

Paris Williams paced Deer Valley's offense, picking up 13 kills. Williams got some help from Gabriella Duarte and her 34 assists. Alliyah Morauda controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Deer Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Emerald, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Coincidentally, Deer Valley and Emerald will both be playing Liberty the next time they take the court. The Wolverines will head out to face the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Aerouants will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
