Basketball Recap: Alicia Kenny's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Covenant over Grace Christian

New Covenant lost against Grace Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The New Covenant Gryphons fell just short of the Grace Christian Warriors by a score of 26-23. The Gryphons 's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

New Covenant's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alicia Kenny, who posted five points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. What's more, Kenny also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Jocelyn Walker was another key player, putting up nine points.

Grace Christian was led to victory by Kaitlyn Harper and Aubrey Greenmun. Harper went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and five boards, while Greenmun earned seven points and five rebounds.

New Covenant's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Grace Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Coming up, New Covenant will square off against Carlisle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Grace Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
