Everett is 8-2 against Stanwood since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Seagulls will square off against the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Everett has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Stanwood will arrive with five straight wins.

Everett came up short against Roosevelt on Saturday, falling 12-5.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Stanwood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They blew past Oak Harbor 21-14. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Addison Anderson made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off five runs, four doubles, and three RBI while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. Those four doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rubi Lopez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Olivia Dahl was another key player, getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Stanwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Stanwood pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Everett, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Everett might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Stanwood in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Seagulls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
