Basketball Recap: King's Academy Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Excel Christian Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday King's Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Excel Christian Academy Eagles 69-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

King's Academy had a senior duo take command as Everett Hollis dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds and Brayden Madison went 7 of 10 on his way to 19 points and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Madison has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tucker, who posted nine points.

King's Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Excel Christian Academy lost, don't look at Kaiden Ward. Despite the final result, he earned 16 points. The match was Ward's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashton Mcknight, who put up eight points.

King's Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Excel Christian Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King's Academy will challenge Varsity Opponent on Friday. As for Excel Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
